Design Crush: Backyard Istanbul

I’m reading a book, currently, that is set all around Eastern Europe. From Budapest to Istanbul, the aromas, design, street fanfare and dining delicacies are described in the most exquisite detail. I can’t help myself but lie awake and think that I could be…well, elsewhere.

That’s why, I’ve already begun to map out my stay in Istanbul complete with restaurant stops and unique hotel stays.

In Istanbul, Backyard is catching the attention of intrigued travelers and locals alike. With local, organic ingredients the kitchen serves up mouthwatering meals on a ‘brick-framed porch and a sloping Gatsby-ish lawn.’ And yes, it does come with a sweeping view of the city below.

There’s a special place in my heart for the first Le Pain Quotidien I set foot in, in Brussels. And Backyard seems to channel that vibe and take me back to great coffee, great music and great design.
