Room With a View

The view from this large apartment in DUMBO overlooking the Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn Bridge Park is absolutely stunning. But what catches my eye is the antique slide in the master bedroom. It’s a unique piece that I’ve never seen used before in home decor and I can’t seem to find a reason as to why.

Also, I’m digging the grandfather clock too. My folks have, through heirloom accumulation, acquired some grandfather clocks of their own and have about four around their house–all working and chiming away every hour. Surprisingly enough,  it’s become a thing of comfort for me to hear them ticking softly in the background and then dinging away through the night. You learn to accept it as ambiant noise after a while. Even with their vintage look, they really can fit into any style home.
